Seaton is preparing for a vibrant cultural revival this summer as the East Devon Soul Festival arrives with an eclectic mix of music, community involvement, and a strong commitment to sustainability. The new festival aims to energise the often-overlooked seaside town, turning its underused venues into hubs of creativity and celebration.
The inaugural event brings together local talent, national artists, and community groups across a broad spectrum of genres-from jazz and soul to electronica, ska, surf rock, and drum and bass. Organisers say the driving force behind the festival is simple: to bring soul back into Seaton.
The festival's programming champions inclusivity, with an emphasis on emerging artists and acts featuring female and non-binary musicians. Music lovers can expect a blend of jazz, funk, soul, surf rock, electronic live sets, and global street music.
